Goldfields Railway provides passengers with a delightfully nostalgic journey from the historic gold town of Waihi to Waikino, gateway to the awesome Karangahake Gorge.

The journey—by vintage train—passes over farmland and through cuttings hewn from solid rock affording great views of the sparkling Ohinemuri River along the way.

A one-way journey takes approximately 30 minutes and the full return trip around 1 hour and 15 minutes.
